Bobby Zamora Is Staying At Fulham – Roy Hodgson
The very useful but distinctly goal-shy striker is going nowhere, according to his manager...

Bobby Zamora has spurned the chance to move to Hull City in favour of staying at Fulham, a “delighted” Roy Hodgson has announced.

The Whites’ striker had been in talks with the Tigers over a proposed transfer, but he is now set to remain at Craven Cottage for another season.

Speaking to the News of the World, Hodgson admitted he was pleased with his player’s decision.

"We allowed Bobby to talk to Hull, but he wants to stay with us and I'm delighted,” said the Fulham boss.

“He didn't score many goals last season, but he will this time because he is a very good technician.”

Zamora managed only two Premier League goals all season for the Cottagers, despite being a virtual-ever present, yet he proved himself a vital team member as Fulham finished an impressive season in seventh place.

However, he could be joined at Fulham next season by Peter Crouch, with Hodgson revealing that he was hopeful of landing the England international.

“This will not end our pursuit of Crouch,” he added.

“We have spoken to Portsmouth and to the player's agent about wages, and I am hopeful something will happen.”
