Everton in talks to sign Senderos

Everton have confirmed they are in talks with Arsenal over the signing of Swiss defender Philippe Senderos.

Senderos, 24, joined the Gunners in 2003 and made over 100 appearances before spending the 2008-09 campaign on loan at AC Milan.

"We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe," Everton chairman Bill Kenwright told his club's official website.

"Nothing has been concluded yet but talks are ongoing."

A fee of about £6m is thought to have been discussed for the Switzerland international but an Everton club source claimed the centre-back was not being signed as a direct replacement for Joleon Lescott.

Everton have rejected two bids, of £15m and £18m, for England defender Lescott, who reportedly held talks with Toffees manager David Moyes on Monday but did not submit a formal transfer request.

Lescott, who is ruled out of Tuesday's friendly at Blackpool with a hip injury, has been told by Moyes he will not be sold and City have yet to put in a third bid.

Senderos would at the very least provide Everton with cover at the back, where Phil Jagielka is not due to return from a knee injury until November at the earliest.

The former Servette player trained with his Arsenal team-mates during a Members Day at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Leeds United: Bates reveals City's Delph bid

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has revealed that Manchester City failed with an attempt to sign Fabian Delph, who is bound for Aston Villa.

Bates, whose club have agreed a fee with Villa for Delph, claims City also had an offer accepted by United but asked for a week to "think about" the signing.

Leeds reacted by moving to negotiate a sale to Villa, and Delph is expected to complete his transfer to Birmingham today.

Bates told www.leedsunited.com: "We had accepted an offer from Manchester City which they had to go back with to the owner in the Gulf. Then apparently they needed a week to think about it which surprised us, considering the size of the deal.

"The problem was that, with a week, they might have come back and said 'no' and that wouldn't have been fair to Delph, wouldn't have been fair to Aston Villa, and would have eaten into our season.

"We went back to Villa, and it's a good decision for Leeds and the player."

只有車仔應該唔會有主力走...不過就轉左領隊..

Barcelona are ready to test Sir Alex Ferguson's resolve with a €14 million (£12m) bid for Manchester United star Jonny Evans, according to reports.

The Daily Mail is suggesting that the Spanish club may be weighing up a move for the 21-year-old centre-back as they look to improve their options in defence.

Juventus are currently in advanced talks with Pep Guardiola's team regarding the loan signing of Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres, which suggests that the Catalans may be in the market for a replacement.

Reports earlier in the summer had claimed that Barca were chasing Evans' Manchester United team-mate Nemanja Vidic, but those rumours were put to bed when the Serbian's agent insisted his client is happy at Old Trafford.

Evans, who spent the entire 2006-07 season on-loan at Sunderland, enjoyed an extended run of games in the Red Devils' first-team last season and he looks set to be an integral part of the United squad again this campaign.

Gerard Pique was the last United defender to swap Manchester for Barcelona, winning the Primera Division title and Champions League with the club since his move in 2008.

If reports are to be believed, the Nou Camp outfit will now turn their attentions to Northern Ireland international Evans as they seek to defend their Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey crowns.

英超球星外流.
入面幾個球會都係塘水滾塘魚....

之前鏝城簽伊度奧唔成事....
唯有寄望英超多d新星睇...

唔係真係好似希特拉咁....逼住裝埋有線..
