Hitman Huntelaar is 'not on our radar'

Arsène Wenger says Klaas Jan Huntelaar is “not on his radar”.

The Arsenal manager is known to be on the hunt for a striker during the January window and has been linked with the Dutch international in the media over the past few weeks.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Milan after an indifferent spell with Real Madrid. But speaking exclusively to Arsenal TV Online on New Year’s Day, Wenger discounted the possibility of bringing in Huntelaar and suggested that transfer regulations may close the door anyway.

“No [I am not in for him],” said the manager. “I am surprised he never plays but he is not on our radar.

"[Anyway] I don't believe that this kind of player can move. I am not sure [he] can move again in this transfer period because he has moved already once this season."

Wenger: 'I've not re-opened Chamakh talks'

Arsène Wenger has not made any contact with Marouane Chamakh about a summer transfer.

The Arsenal manager has already confirmed that he will not make a move for the Bordeaux striker in the current transfer window. However Chamakh is out of contract in six months, meaning he could now sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.

But Wenger says he has not had any contact with the player or his agent since last June.

"Chamakh will stay in Bordeaux until the end of the season," said the Frenchman.

"Then he will go where he wants to go because he will be completely free.

"He could [sign a pre-contract agreement] but there is nothing concrete at all between us and Chamakh.

"He is completely free at the end of the year and I have not been in touch with his agent at all. It came up in June and it's true that in June I wanted to take him but since we had no contact at all."
