Monaco striker Ibrahima Toure, who fired the big-spending club into Ligue 1 with 18 goals, has told L'Equipe of his disappointment at being put on the transfer list and his frustration at not being allowed a move. Monaco have slapped a €5m price on him but interested clubs such as St Etienne and Rennes are being put off by the high price.

Lyon midfielder Michel Bastos is set to finalise a move to United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain.

The Brazilian, 29, agreed a long-term loan deal with Schalke last season but the German side have not sought a permanent transfer despite being given first refusal.  

Instead, L’Equipe reports that Al-Ain should complete a €4.5 million deal for the former Lille player on the eve of his birthday.

News of interest from the Middle East was first reported last week, with Lyon desperate to reduce costs in the wake of a €25 million shortfall.

They have already made a profit of €17 million from player sales during the summer and are still keen to offload strikers Bafetimbi Gomis and Jimmy Briand.
