Racing Santander have finally boosted their attacking options by taking Sevilla striker Antonito on a season-long loan.

The Cantabrians have been desperate to land a forward all summer having lost last season's top scorer Javi Guerrero to Celta Vigo.

Racing have been linked with a host of names including Dynamo Kiev's Kleber and Chile international Reinaldo Navia.

However, they have now strengthened their frontline with the capture of 27-year-old Antonito.

The hit-man is under contract until 2008 at Sevilla but finds himself well down the pecking order under new boss Juande Ramos.

Ramos has brought in Luis Fabiano, Fredi Kanoute and Javier Saviola this summer and Antonito is unlikely to have seen much action if he had remained at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

However, the player still sees his long-term future at Sevilla and is determined to demonstrate his quality to Ramos whilst on loan at Racing.

"This is the best option for me," he stated.

"I need to be playing to show the coach that I still have a lot to offer Sevilla."

Racing do not have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Villarreal have completed the signing of Uruguay goalkeeper Sebastian Viera.

The former Arsenal target has signed a four-year deal at the Spanish club after leaving Nacional.

Viera was close to a move to Arsenal earlier this month only for the English club to pull the plug on the move because of doubts over his fitness.

The 22-year-old has successfully passed a medical at Villarreal and will be officially unveiled on Tuesday.

Villarreal have been keen to bring in a new goalkeeper after seeing Jose Reina leave for Liverpool earlier in the summer.

Viera will battle with Mariano Barbosa for the number one jersey at Villarreal and the Argentine stopper is ready for the fight with Viera.

"For me it is not a problem (the signing of Viera). More competition is always excellent for the team," said Barbosa.

Zaragoza sign former Real Madrid midfielder Celades

MADRID, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Former Real Madrid midfielder Albert Celades signed for Real Zaragoza as a free agent on Monday.

Celades, 29, who was born in Andorra but has been capped for Spain, began his career at Barcelona and played a season at Celta Vigo before moving to Real in 2000. He left in June after completing a five-year contract.

Zaragoza are also trying to sign Genoa striker Diego Milito, brother of their Argentine centre back Gabriel.

Real Mallorca have captured Internazionale striker Lambros Choutos on loan.

The Greek international has inked a season-long loan deal with the Spanish side, but Mallorca have no option to sign him permanently included in the deal.

Mallorca boss Hector Cuper has been searching for a new striker all summer and he switched his attentions to Choutos after failing in moves for Angelos Charisteas and Italian international Bernardo Corradi.

Choutous has still to play for Inter despite arriving from Olympiakos last summer.

The 25-year-old is well down the pecking order at Giuseppe Meazza and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Atalanta.

Inter are happy to loan him out so that he can gain valuable first team experience and Mallorca are hoping Choutos can solve their goalscoring problems.
