Argentine ace eyes PSG, Lyon must up Toulalan bid

Argentinian starlet Pablo Zabaleta has announced his desire to move to Paris Saint Germain.

The talented midfielder has just captained his country to glory at the Fifa World Youth Championships, after the South Americans triumphed 2-1 over Nigeria in Saturday's final.

Zabaleta currently plays his club football in his native Argentina with San Lorenzo, and has been expected to make the step up to European football to further his impressive development to date.

Liga outfit Espanyol have been linked with a swoop for the young star, although he has now indicated a desire to move to Parc des Princes.

Lyon may have to stump up €10 million if they are to secure the services of French starlet Jeremy Toulalan from Nantes, according to reports in France.

The 21-year-old star has been identified as a potential replacement for in-demand midfielder Michael Essien, and it is likely that Lyon will move for Toulalan should they lose the Ghanaian international to Chelsea or Real Madrid.

The French champions have already had a €6 million bid spurned by their Ligue 1 counterparts, as new Nantes supremo Rudi Roussillon is believed to be holding out for a more substantial figure for his young talent.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has already made public his admiration of Toulalan, with new boss Gerard Houllier keen to add the emerging talent to the summer signings of John Carew and Benoit Pedretti.

Les Canaris are relying heavily on Toulalan to form the future of Serge le Dizet's side, and it believed that only an offer of €10 million or more will ease his passage to Stade Gerland.
