Cristiano Ronaldo was a notable absentee as Manchester United jetted out to
the Far East for their pre-season tour of Asia.
The Portugal international figured in the friendly win against Peterborough
in midweek, scoring twice in a 6-0 rout, but is scheduled to link up with
his team-mates a day late.
United explained he missed the flight for Hong Kong due to "family reasons"
while captain Roy Keane, Wes Brown and Gabriel Heinze are either injured or
resting.
Celta Vigo target Kleberson also boarded the plane despite Sir Alex Ferguson
confirming The Red Devils were in discussions regarding a possible move to
La Liga.
Several youngsters should get a chance to impress including keeper Luke
Steele, defenders Gerard Pique and Phil Bardsley, midfielder David Jones
plus exciting striking talent Giuseppe Rossi.
Chinese forward Dong Fangzou is in line to make his United bow during the
tour, which opens with a game on Saturday morning against Hong Kong.
