MILAN - After the misunderstanding which has arisen following the cancellation of the team's tour of England so as not to further stretch the already severely occupied security services, the club's ownership has spoken with president Giacinto Facchetti and head coach Roberto Mancini and is examining the possibility of finding a positive solution to the matter and be coherent with the will of the initial project.

Inter’s pre-season tour of England is back on after the Italian outfit opted to reconsider their decision to cancel.

The Nerazzurri yesterday decided to scrap their trip amid security fears following the recent London bombings.

But after being widely criticised for pulling out of the event, they will now begin their tour as previously scheduled.

"I can officially confirm the tour is on as scheduled," Giancarlo Aragona, Italy's ambassador to Britain, told Reuters on Sunday. "The team is leaving for the UK."

Sports minister Richard Caborn has also confirmed the news after he held talks with Italian sports minister Mario Pescante.

"Pescante spoke to the Italian Football Association and they made representations to Inter," said Caborn.

"They came back saying all things being equal the tour would be on this morning. They're flying out on Sunday."

The San Siro giants will play Leicester on Monday, Crystal Palace on Wednesday, Norwich on Friday and Portsmouth on Sunday.

Inter’s initial decision to pull-out was not welcomed by all of the aforementioned clubs.

Leicester were assessing the possibility of seeking compensation seeing as they could have lost as much as £250,000.

Crystal Palace also threatened to take legal action, while Portsmouth had already sold close to 13,000 tickets for their game.

Norwich CitySports minister Richard Caborn has announced that Internazionale are travelling to England to fulfil their four-match pre-season tour.

The news comes after the Italian giants stated they were reconsidering their original decision to pull out of the tour over fears stemming from the recent terrorist attacks in London.

Their original decision, which was made on Saturday, brought strong condemnation from Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Norwich City and Portsmouth, who are scheduled to play Inter on their tour.

However, the Nerazzurri put out a statement late on Saturday evening claiming the matter was a 'misunderstanding' and that they were reconsidering the original decision.

Caborn, meanwhile, stepped into the matter and held talks with his Italian counterpart and revealed that the Italian Football Federation had been able to persuade the club to fulfil the trip as planned.

"I had strong representations from the clubs involved yesterday and I spoke to my opposite number in Italy, Mario Pescante," said Caborn.

"He got straight onto the president of their football association and they made representations to Inter.

"They came back last night saying all things being equal, the tour would be on this morning. They are flying out today."

Inter's tour of England includes matches at Leicester on Monday followed by a clash with Palace on Wednesday and another match with Norwich on Friday.

The tour was to end with a match at Portsmouth next Sunday.
