REDS WANT SOLANO IN BAROS DEAL
LIVERPOOL boss Rafa Benitez wants Aston Villa winger Nolberto Solano as the surprise makeweight in a swap deal for Milan Baros.
Benitez has told Villa he is interested in the Peruvian right winger who would fill one of the vacancies in his Anfield squad.
Solano knows of the shock chance to move to the European champions and is desperate to go. He is unsettled at Villa under David O'Leary and has just one year left on his contract.
The former Newcastle star would love another crack at the Champions League and is prepared to take his chance to play a part in Benitez's plans.
Solano has now shot to the top of Benitez's right-wing wish list after he pulled out of a move for Bolton's Stelios Giannakopoulos and missed out on Real Madrid's Luis Figo.
The deal will hinge on the valuations of the players. Liverpool want £7million for the Czech striker but could now drop to around £6m - or £4m plus Solano.
