InternazionaleAndy van der Meyde is undergoing a medical at Everton, and should complete a move to the English club from Italian giants Internazionale by the weekend.

The talented Dutchman has never quite had the expected impact in Italy, and will relish the chance to get his once stellar career back on track.

Everton are yet to agree a deal for the winger, but will be confident that they will snap up the former Ajax man.

Andy Van der Meyde is set to sign for Everton after the Inter midfielder flew into Liverpool for a medical on Friday.

Premiership officials met with their Nerazzurri counterparts yesterday, where a £2m transfer fee was reportedly agreed.

The winger has been looking for a new club all summer after the San Siro outfit signed Luis Figo and Santiago Solari from Real Madrid.

Van der Meyde has been linked with the likes of Monaco, Roma, Fiorentina and Middlesbrough, but Everton have seemingly won the race after having an initial bid rejected last summer.

The former Ajax sensation is desperate for regular first team football in an effort to make the 2006 World Cup with Holland.

Inter winger Andy Van der Meyde is to undergo a medical with Everton and will complete his move to Goodison Park if the clubs can agree a fee.
The Dutchman is keen for first-team football but only seems to be a peripheral figure in the plans on nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini.

Everton are also hoping to seal a deal for Roma’s Matteo Ferrari, with the defender joining on loan for the season.

"I aim to bring in a couple of new players. Hopefully Ferrari will complete his move today," said Moyes.

"I don’t know if we can get him registered in time for Saturday.

"Van der Meyde is coming in today for a medical and we will see how it goes.

"Hopefully the clubs can agree a fee."
