Forget all the gossip, this is what will happen before the transfer window closes on Wednesday. (according to a reliable source with a major media corporation)

Owen will return with Parry completing the deal, believed to be in the region of £11 million along with Woodgate who will sign for Liverpool on loan, with a view to a permanent deal in January if he stays fit. Real are cutting their losses on him.

This was decided after the Champions League draw was over. With Liverpool drawn in the same group as Chelsea and Betis, Rafa and David Moores decided that it was time for Owen to come home! Also they have decided not to sell or loan any of the other strikers like Cisse, Morientes and Crouch. Cisse will most likely be used as as a right winger
along with Pongolle since Liverpool have not found anyone worthwhile and Morientes and Crouch will fight for the second striker place. Both are Ideal candidates for a Target Man role.

Rafa will only consider selling Cisse to try and buy Dirk Kuyt for the £12 million asking price set by Feyenoord.

Liverpool have also tabbed a new £6m bid for Daniel Agger of Brondby.

【明報專訊】落筆之時，奧雲(相關新聞 - 網站)的轉會動向還未確定。最後，奧雲將會到哪一家球會落腳，這並不是我最感興趣的問題。雖然奧雲曾是「紅軍」的重要一員，而我亦是利物浦球迷，不過一直以來我都不是他的「粉絲」。

可以這樣說，今天奧雲所身處的處境，是當代球壇的獨有現象。既然少年得志，便沒有道理不往外闖闖﹔一為名，二為利，無論哪一種選擇，他都應該離開英格蘭，到一間大球會去證明一下自己的價值。問題是﹕當他並未有在這個全球化的球壇更上一層樓的時候，那便不知如何是好了。奧雲離開利物浦，說明他並非球隊不可缺乏的一員（至少不再有奧雲掛帥的利物浦，有能力取得了歐聯錦標）﹔加盟皇馬之後，他並不是必然正選。我不敢說奧雲不是世界級球星，但他肯定並未能排在世界足球明星們的前十名（甚至前二十名）。奧雲不是一位「單天保至尊型」前鋒，可以一人之力，令球隊起死回生。他也不是一位「領導型」球員，可到一支實力較差的球隊，憑個人魅力或領導才能（如當年由歐洲回國的奇雲基瑾），帶來出人意表的成績或令人眼前一亮的足球風格。

奧雲在西班牙無增值

奧雲是一位好球員，僅此而已。他是可以替換的，也並不一定是（球會或國家隊的）必然正選。他的西班牙經驗未有為他增值。反之，連過去英國體育新聞媒體的關注程度與輿論支持均減少了。從這個角度來看，他選擇到哪裏落班，是個人事業的重大抉擇。

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen made a phone call to England boss Sven Goran Eriksson to discuss his future as Liverpool prepare for talks over a return to Anfield for the player.

Eriksson revealed: "Michael phoned me, we spoke and it is clear something needs to be done with him."

"He is usually a calm young man but he is worried about his club football in this World Cup year."

"We talked for 10 minutes and I understand his worries."

"If Michael stayed at Real and played as many games as last season, I would pick him for England. But if he never plays, it's a tricky one."

"I will be very happy the day they tell me what is happening with Michael because he is worried. He wants to know. It's troubling him."

Three options remain open for Owen - stay at Real, join Liverpool or move to Newcastle on loan.

A source close to the negotiations admitted to the News of the World: "The chances of him staying in Madrid are stronger than they were a week ago."
