繼到2008年
RC Deportivo La Coruña coach Joaquín Caparrós has ended weeks of negotiations by agreeing a two-year contract extension.
Marked upturn
The former Sevilla FC coach has committed to another two years at the Riazor, tying himself to the club until 2008. The deal is reward for the marked upturn Depor have experience since Caparrós took over at the helm during the summer. The team missed out on a European place last season but are currently challenging for a UEFA Champions League berth, and Depor chairman Augusto César Lendoiro has been keen to secure Caparrós on a long-term deal for some time.
Derby debut
He now has his man, and Caparrós promised there was more to come, saying: "This is an important day for me. My way of working needs time but no one will work harder than me and my coaching team. We want to make the team the envy of all Spanish clubs." He will hope to celebrate in style when his side face RC Celta de Vigo in Saturday's keenly awaited Galician derby.
