Real Mallorca have signed Greek international Angelos Basinas on a free transfer.

Basinas has been without a club since last summer after having his contract with Panathinaikos cancelled.

A number of clubs have been linked with the Euro 2004 winner, but Mallorca have won the chase for his signature.

The 30-year-old is Mallorca's third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Leonardo Pisculichi and Jose Nunes at Son Moix.

Mallorca coach Hector Cuper will be hoping Basinas can help them escape trouble at the wrong end of the table in the second half of the season.
