D'Alessandro delight at move
Andres D'Alessandro has told skysports.com about his delight at his impending move to Portsmouth.
Skysports.com revealed on Monday that Pompey had beaten a host of top European clubs to the signature of the Argentine, who is currently with Wolfsburg.
The details of the transfer have yet to be finalised, but he is expected to join on loan until the end of the season and then will join the club permanently - if Pompey win their battle to avoid relegation.
"I am very excited," D'Alessandro told skysports.com.
"I am very happy to know that I am wanted in England and to play for Portsmouth is a great opportunity.
"I am very pleased that this move is happening.
"I know Harry Redknapp is a great man and I am looking forward to working with him."
D'Alessandro has already agreed personal terms and he will complete a medical on Tuesday morning before sealing his move, providing there are no last minute hitches with final talks between Pompey and Wolfsburg - although no problems are foreseen.
The deal is a major coup for Pompey and will be their ninth of the transfer window, although skysports.com understand that D'Alessandro may not be the last incoming transfer with another striker on the list of potential targets.

Portsmouth have completed the signing of Argentine international Andres D'Alessandro, skysports.com can confirm.
We revealed exclusively on Monday that Pompey were set to land D'Alessandro, and now they have finalised the move - subject to international clearance, which is expected in time for him to make his debut against Bolton on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old spoke to skysports.com on Tuesday and expressed his delight at joining Harry Redknapp's Fratton Park revolution.
"I am very excited," D'Alessandro told skysports.com.
"I am very happy to know that I am wanted in England and to play for Portsmouth is a great opportunity.
"I know Harry Redknapp is a great man and I am looking forward to working with him."
Pompey have landed D'Alessandro on loan until the end of the current season, after which point they have the option to make the move permanent.
D'Alessandro is Portsmouth's ninth signing of the transfer window and third in the last 24 hours, and yet more arrivals cannot be ruled out.

Ooops....Once the hottest target chased by Juventus/Inter/Milan/MU, joined Wolfsburg in the hope of knocking on Euro's door and taking this chance as a stepping stone to other bigger team, consequently being shipped to Pompey for the relegation dogfight in world cup year....

What a classic tragedy for a classical number 10 in modern football,really hope any La Liga team snapped him up & let him blossomed again as he should in the forseeable future.
