不過Owen應該冇問題既
Glenn Roeder insists Michael Owen is not concerned that he has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.
Owen enjoyed a cameo outing as a substitute at Birmingham City on Saturday in his first appearance since breaking a metatarsal bone on New Year's Eve.
The England striker is aiming to boost his fitness ahead of the World Cup by featuring in Newcastle United's closing games of the season.
But Owen provided observers with a scare after appearing to be in discomfort at the final whistle of The Magpies' 0-0 draw at St Andrews.
On the day Owen's England strike partner Wayne Rooney was stretchered off at Chelsea, a setback for the former Liverpool hot shot would be untimely for Sven Goran Eriksson.
Newcastle boss Roeder, though, has moved to allay any fears about Owen's well-being and feels the hit-man has not suffered a recurrence of his foot injury.
"The medical department will decide over the weekend what the next step will be," said Roeder.
"Michael is not 100 percent happy with his foot. But I have to emphasise he is not that concerned.
"He told me he felt some discomfort when he wheeled away after five or six minutes.
"He said it was a dull ache, that is all."
Though Owen has only recently returned to full training, Roeder does not feel it was a gamble in picking the 26-year-old in his squad to face Birmingham.
Roeder added: "I would not have taken a chance today and Michael would not have taken a chance if he had not worked so well this week.
"He did everything asked of him in practice and did not have a problem."
