Lippi calls new Italy faces

Marcello Lippi’s Azzurri squad includes Pippo Inzaghi, Francesco Tavano, Alessandro Gamberini, Mauro Esposito, Franco Semioli, Cristiano Lucarelli and Marco Marchionni.

The Coach called the informal get-together at the Borghesiana training ground in Rome to evaluate other options for the World Cup.


As the Coppa Italia Final is next week, Inter and Roma players have been left out of this meeting on May 2 and 3.


Milan striker Inzaghi returns to the Azzurri fold for the first time in two years, while Marchionni of Parma hadn’t appeared since November 2003.


Cagliari wide man Esposito has five caps under his belt, but had fallen out of favour following his club’s struggles this season.


Livorno striker Lucarelli has only ever played in a summer tour of the US in 2005, despite netting 43 goals over the last two campaigns.


These are debut calls for Gamberini of Fiorentina, Chievo midfielder Semioli and Empoli hitman Tavano.


There will be no friendly match during this spell, only games between ranks and discussion over tactics. Lippi must hand in the final World Cup list on May 15.

though curci is a substitution in roma, but i still think he is better than doni n amelia,
should give him a chance to try try after world cup

恐怕古斯要有得打一段時間而仲要幾屈先有可能做大國腳..
