Rafa on Alonso injury

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez says he has no idea how serious Xabi Alonso's injury is but he is hopeful that the Spaniard will make the final.

The midfielder was stretchered off just before half time after suddenly going to ground after appearing to twist his foot/ankle. He was clearly in pain while receiving treatment but he did emerge to watch the second half from the dugout.

Speaking after today's match Rafa said: "We have no news now. We will do x-ray scans tomorrow. We have to wait.

"I think he will have a chance (on making the final) but at this moment we have to wait. Tomorrow we will have more information."
