Poland coach Pawel Janas has left out Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek from his 23-man World Cup squad.
Despite initially being included in a 16-man squad for a warm-up match against Lithuania earlier this month, the former Feyenoord custodian has paid the price for a lack of first-team action with The Reds this past season.
Dudek fell down the pecking order at Anfield and spent most of the season behind number one Jose Reina, who himself booked his place in Spain's World Cup squad on Monday.
"Dudek is a very good keeper, but he has played very few games and that has acted in favour of those who have been playing at club level," Janas told Polstar TV.
Legia Warsaw stopper Lukasz Fabianski claimed one of three goalkeeping places in Janas's squad, with Celtic's Artur Boruc and West Bromwich Albion's Tomasz Kuszczak also booking their places for the Bialo-czerwoni.
Another notable absentee is Wolves striker Tomasz Frankowski, despite leading the Poles in goalscoring during the qualifiers, while former captain Tomasz Klos has also missed Janas's final selection for Germany.
"These players were at the heart of qualification, but qualification finished a year ago," Janas said of the pair's omissions.
Janas opted to select the Wisla Krakow pair of striker Pawel Brozek and defender Dariusz Dudka, despite their lack of caps for the Eastern Europeans.
Celtic striker Maciej Zurawski and the Southampton pair of striker Grzegorz Rasiak and midfielder Kamil Kosowski also make the final 23.
The Poles have been drawn in Group A and face Ecuador, hosts Germany and Costa Rica at the finals next month.
