Andrew Johnson will hold talks with Wigan chief Paul Jewell on Friday after Crystal Palace accepted an £8.5million bid for the striker.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who will discuss the club's vacant manager's job with Graeme Souness next week, said last night Johnson will negotiate terms with Wigan on Friday.
Jewell wanted Johnson, 25, to be released from England's B squad to play Belarus tomorrow night to hold talks today, but coach Sven Goran Eriksson will keep the striker in the training camp.
Johnson, who will probably be a substitute at the Madejski Stadium, has four years left on a contract worth £24,000 a week at Selhurst Park, but the offer from Wigan will be closer to £40,000 a week.

Johnson scored 21 goals for Palace in the Premiership the season before last but failed to save them from relegation.
Although he scored 17 times for Palace in the campaign just finished, he spent most of it on the sidelines with a knee injury, and he told the club he wanted to leave when they failed to beat Watford in the play-offs.
