Hearts eye South Korean striker

Ahn Jung-hwan is a huge star in South Korea
Scottish Cup winners Hearts have made enquiries about signing South Korean international striker Ahn Jung-hwan.
The 30-year-old is currently with German club Duisburg and his agent told BBC Sport that Tynecastle interim boss Valdas Ivanauskas has been in touch.

Tom Sanders said: "I spoke with Valdas two or three times and he told me of his interest in Jung-hwan.

"But it is not clear if he will be head coach for next season and there is a lot of interest from other clubs."

Jung-hwan, who played in Serie A with Perugia and at French side Metz, is a huge star in his homeland.

And he is best known for scoring the extra-time goal that sent the Italians crashing out of the 2002 World Cup.

He will be at this year's World Cup and appears set to leave Duisburg, who were relegated from the Bundesliga this term.

Sanders confirmed that there was a clause in Jung-hwan's contract that allows him to leave for a fee of 750,000 Euros (approximately £500,000).

"There are three German clubs willing to pay that," Sanders added. "And there are three English sides interested.

"But Ahn will probably wait until the World Cup is over to decide his future.

"I also heard from an agent who mentioned a possibility of Rangers but I have heard nothing concrete from Glasgow."

Ivanauskas steered Hearts to a second-place finish in the SPL and Scottish Cup victory after taking over from the sacked Graham Rix in March.
