Senderos blow for Swiss
Switzerland have suffered a blow with the news that defender Philippe Senderos is out for the remainder of the World Cup.
The Arsenal stopper was the hero for Kobi Kuhn's charges after scoring against South Korea on Friday, but injury ultimately forced him from the field.
Senderos left the pitch with an apparent shoulder problem and it has now been confirmed he will take no further part this summer.
Switzerland's team doctor Rudolf Roeder has stated the 21-year-old has suffered ligament damage and requires at least two weeks on the sidelines.
"He will be out for a minimum of two weeks," Roeder said.
"There is a 50 percent chance he will require an operation but the most important thing is rest for now." |
