事實上，我說世界盃悶出鳥來絕非孤例，平心而論，眼前中外的足球文化論述同樣五十步笑百步。自從足球成為文化研究及社會學的關注重點後，各地的足球研究論著出版熱潮方興未艾——由全球化切入工業，又或是回歸在地角度去反思社區脈絡，乃至各式各樣的足球文學創作等等，你可以說繁花似錦，但我卻有開到荼蘼的慨嘆。其中關鍵是一切均向建制化的論述角度靠攏，形成足球反映如此如彼的社會問題之類的對應解讀作堆積如山。有人可能認為一切離足球愈來愈遠——我既反對卻又認同﹕前者只因我不是足球的原教旨主義者，正如對於足球是否緣自中國的蹴踘坦言興趣不大，反正證實為發源地又不能為中國預留一席決賽周的入場門票 ﹔認同在於我強調一切應該回到賽場，方法與角度可以不斷求變，但出發的原點應該從草地開始。
Lol.. Football is a branch of sociology. For me, good books about football never talk about football on the pitch. To his last sentence, that is why football books are for football outside the pitch while videos for football on the pitch. We can watch football on the pitch in our eyes that we don't need books for football on pitch. But football is not limited only on the pitch. Many other aspects are there to be discussed. So we need books.
I'm questioned why I take football serious when football in itself may not be taken seriously... I think football worths studying as it greatly influences the majority of people in the world....

This book is actually a scholarly one into football unlike many other light books.. It explains what is happening now in football. It serves as a good introduction to football. It contains a lot of references and football journals. |
