Bullard to be back within 2 months
Fulham hope Jimmy Bullard will be back in action inside two months after the midfielder dislocated his kneecap at Newcastle.
Bullard was hurt during the first half of his team's 2-1 win at St James' Park after an accidental clash with Scott Parker.
The Magpies captain appeared to land on the back of Bullard's leg after beating his opponent to the ball.
As Bullard was stretchered off and taken to hospital, there were initial fears that the 27-year-old could face a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
But Fulham's assistant manager Steve Kean delivered a more upbeat bulletin on the hard-working midfielder's condition.
"The good news for us is that Jimmy's been to hospital in Newcastle, he's got out and has had a dislocated kneecap," Kean told Sky Sports News.
"The good thing is he had a scan and also an X-ray and he's not broken any bones.
"We hope he is going to be back in between six to eight weeks, which is great news, because at first it looked like an horrific injury."
Bullard had made a fine start to his Fulham career since joining in a £2.5 million deal from Wigan Athletic in the close season.
He scored a late equaliser from the penalty spot at home to Bolton Wanderers last month and then grabbed the only goal against Sheffield United at Craven Cottage.
