England defender Glen Johnson has become Portsmouth FC's first signing of the summer, joining the south-coast club on a season-long loan from English champions Chelsea FC.
'Great opportunity'
The 21-year-old, who made just 16 first-team appearances for West Ham United FC before joining Chelsea for €8.5m in 2003, said: "Moving to Portsmouth is a great opportunity for me to play regular Premiership football again and hopefully force myself back into the England set-up ahead of the next European Championship. The club have big ambitions and I'm looking forward to playing a part in them."
