Midfielder Joel Griffiths has departed Leeds to join Australian outfit Newcastle United Jets.
The 26-year-old has returned to his homeland and is hoping to kick-start his career down under.
Joel joined United last season and made just two appearances as a substitute.
The winger was involved at the centre of a wrangle with Swiss outfit Xamax and United had to appeal to FIFA to gain clearance for the player.
Joel made the trip to Norway with the squad during pre-season, but after featuring in the first game in Sarpsborg he missed the clash against Sandnes with a shin injury.
Joel returned as a substitute during the friendly at Hartlepool, but hasn't featured since and will now return to Australia. 有冇人覺得列斯隻吉祥物好邪惡...:icon054:

NEW City signing Lee Croft said he had made his mind-up to join the Canaries almost as soon as he heard they were interested.
Croft, 21, signed a three-year deal at Carrow Road on Monday despite being pursued by a number of other Championship clubs.
And the former England youth international said joining Norwich City was something highly appealing to him from minute one of transfer negotiations.
"Even before I came down I liked the idea of coming to Norwich," he told CanariesWorld.
"As soon as I got to meet the manager and see the facilities and the training ground and the stadium and watched the game with Newcastle I wanted to come."
Croft had been limited largely to substitute appearances while at Manchester City and said the move would hopefully give his career a new lease of life.
"I had a run in the side at Man City in that I was coming off the bench regularly, but I wanted that bit more. I wanted to play games regularly.

BLUES AGREE TERMS FOR JAIDI
Blue have just agreed terms with Bolton Wanderers for their powerful Tunisian defender Radhi Jaidi.
The fee could reach a possible £2m with add-ons.
The 30-year-old will now sign a three-year-deal with Blues pending a successful work permit application.
If as anticpated Jaidi makes the switch to St. Andrew's, he will link up with former Bolton colleague Bruno N'Gotty who signed for Blues earlier this month.
Jaidi was the first Tunisian player to join an English Premier League club when he joined Bolton from leading Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis in July 2004.
He was a member of Tunisia's 2004 African Nations Cup winning squad, and also appeared in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup Finals, where he appeared alongside Blues midfielder Mehdi Nafti.
Since his move to the Reebok he has made a total of 51 appearances and scored eight goals.
Jaidi is regarded as a strong man-marker and first class header of the ball.

Defender Patrik Gerrbrand has today (Monday) had his contract with Leicester City cancelled by mutual consent.
The 25-year-old Swede was signed by former Foxes boss Craig Levein in July 2005 from Hammarby for an undisclosed fee.
He made 17 starts during the 2005-06 campaign, but failed to cement a place in the Foxes first team line-up.
City boss Rob Kelly said: "Patrik has received an offer from a club in Norway. He wants to go back to Scandinavia and we have agreed to cancel his contract to allow him to make the move.

The 26-year-old midfielder has sealed a £400,000 deal with Peter Taylor's team, who he played for yesterday in their 0-0 friendly draw with Millwall.
Carl originally joined the Hammers in August 2004, from Bournemouth for £275,000, and went on to make 36 league and cup appearances during our promotion-winning campaign, including a superb midfield performance in our play-off semi-final second leg victory at Ipswich Town.
However, with Nigel Reo-Coker and Hayden Mullins in such impressive form early last season, the Welsh international was forced to head out on loan to Watford in search of regular first team football.
After just three appearances for the Hornets, Carl returned to Upton Park and, following an injury to Nigel Reo-Coker, he finally made his Premiership debut in an impressive 2-1 win at Everton on December 14.
He went on to make another three league appearances over the Christmas period but it wasn't until the end of the campaign, when Hayden Mullins was ruled out through suspension, that Carl grabbed an opportunity to win a place in the starting line-up.
And how he grabbed it. In the final Premiership game of the season, he sent Hammers on their way to a memorable 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur with a stunning long-range strike, as Martin Jol's team were denied a place in the Champions League.
And just six days later, he stepped out at the Millennium Stadium and produced an impressive display as Alan Pardew's men came within a whisker of enjoying glory in the FA Cup final against Liverpool - an encounter that ultimately turned out to be his last competitive match for the Club.
West Ham United would like to thank Carl - a dedicated, hard-working performer who always gave 100% in a claret and blue shirt - for his loyal service over the past two years, and wish him every success for his future career with Crystal Palace.
