Striker Settles In
Jay Bothroyd is looking forward to leading the line for Wolves after signing a three-year deal this afternoon.
The striker, who was a free agent after leaving Charlton at the end of last season, completed a medical this morning and put pen to paper on the contract before meeting with the press at lunchtime.
"Hopefully I can achieve great things here and help the club to do very well," said Jay.
"I have moved around a few times in my career but I feel the best in me is yet to come. I am still young (24) and I intend to work very hard and do well for Wolves.
"Having signed a three-year deal it gives me security, and I don't want to be part of a squad any more, I want to be first choice. I want to lead the line.
"There were talks with other clubs over the summer, but when I knew Wolves were in for me and they offered me the three-year contract I straight away knew I wanted to come here.
"The manager attracted me, he has achieved great things at many levels, and Wolves is obviously a big club.
"I spoke to the gaffer and he told me how he wants to take the club forward. He's brought in Gary Breen and he wants to sign a few more players to help strengthen the team.
"I also spoke to a few players who've worked with him and everyone says he's a really good manager. He's very honest, no lies, and that's what I need in my career.
"I want to score goals but I'm not going to be setting targets, I just want to settle in and do well."

Young defender Ben Parker is set to join Bradford City on loan.
The youngster, who was a member of the United first team squad which toured Scandinavia, will join the League One club on an initial six-month loan deal.
Ben will stay at Bradford until January 1 and will link up with former Leeds favourite Bobby Davison, who is on the coaching staff at Valley Parade.
United have granted City permission to play Ben in the Carling Cup unless the two clubs are paired together.
Ben has featured heavily in United's pre-season programme and it's hoped that the move to Bradford will help him gain valuable experience.

Sunderland boss Niall Quinn is taking a look at former Newcastle defender Robbie Elliott.
An injury to George McCartney on Monday followed by the departure of Julio Arca to Middlesbrough yesterday has left the Black Cats with a void down the left side of their team.
Elliott, who turned down a new contract at St. James' Park at the end of last season, has been invited to train with Sunderland for a week.
Quinn confirmed: "We're having a look at Robbie. He's an experienced campaigner and might do a job for us in the short-term. He's in the club for a week and we'll see from there."
McCartney's knee ligament injury, which could keep him out for up to three months, means Dan Smith is the only recognised left-back in Sunderland's squad going into Saturday's final pre-season friendly against Carlisle.
The Black Cats are also without Andy Welsh - a left winger - for a month.
It has prompted Quinn and his backroom team to accelerate their efforts to land a left-sided player before the season starts, at Coventry a week on Sunday.
The manager said: "We've one or two other targets we're actively pursuing. One or two players who fit the bill are genuinely interested in coming here.

Blues co-owner David Sullivan has today insisted that all the money made from the sale of Emile Heskey and Jermaine Pennant will be ploughed back in to strengthen the squad.
Following on from today's statement by chairman David Gold, Sullivan also wants to reassure fans that the club is doing everything is its power to bring in new players before the start of the Championship season.
Speaking exclusively to the official website, he revealed that the club had already tabled 13 bids in the search for new players of the required quality to improve the side.
"The money that has come in from the sale of Emile Heskey and Jermaine Pennant, we are committed to putting back into the team to buy players," said Sullivan.
"In particular with Pennant, we tried everything possible to retain his services.
"But it is not worth keeping an unhappy player at the club and it would only be counter productive to do so.
"We have put in 13 offers for different players but a combination of clubs not wanting to sell and players not wanting to come into the Championship has made the job really difficult.
"But there will definitely be more quality additions to the squad before the start of the season.
"Finally I would like to assure you the fans that the welfare and success of our great football club is an absolute priority for us and that we are as totally committed today, as we were when we first took the reigns at St. Andrew's all those years ago.
