Bellamy plans academy in Africa
West Ham and Wales striker Craig Bellamy plans to build a football academy in Sierra Leone to try to help develop the country's young talent.
Bellamy visited the war-torn country last year and was so impressed by the local playing talent that he vowed to help them improve facilities.
He has now set up the Craig Bellamy Foundation, which will start to build an academy in the capital Freetown.
"Because of the war, children haven't had any opportunity," he said.
"They haven't been thrown a football, they've been thrown a gun.
"Now we can give them a chance that their fathers or grandfather's never had. That's the buzz for me.
"I'm not looking to find and sell players. I'm not an agent. I want to make it clear that if any player does make it, any fee goes straight back into the academy."
Bellamy has reportedly invested nearly US$1.28m of his own money into the foundation and the academy is set to include 14 new leagues and 68 new boys' teams and employ 141 managers and coaches.
While improving the country's football is Bellamy's primary motivation, he also hopes the foundation will lead to more youngsters receiving health awareness education.

Toon Trio To Leave Magpies
KEVIN Keegan has confirmed that Newcastle United trio Stephen Carr, Peter Ramage and James Troisi will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
All three players' contracts were due to expire this summer and they will not be signing new deals at St.James' Park.
Ramage, a product of United's youth academy, clocked up 68 outings in just over three years but did not find the net in that time.
And, while the Ashington-born defender was given the chance to stay with his boyhood team, the 24-year-old has chosen to seek regular first-team football at another club.
"We wanted to keep Rammy, but he wants to play regular football, and I couldn't guarantee that here," explained Toon boss KK.
"He goes with our best wishes, as does Stephen Carr, who's been a great pro for this club. He wasn't offered a contract and I explained the reasons why.
"James Troisi has also gone. He has gone to play for Australia in the Olympics, but he has not been offered a contract."
Carr, who signed from Spurs in 2004, made 107 appearances in black and white, scoring one goal.
Troisi, another academy graduate, was named among the Magpie substitutes on several occasions but never made his full debut.

其實以我睇左咁多場sunderland
當然佢地護級主要原因都係贏鬥志....
你計下佢地有幾多場係臨完場入波...
或者keano既影響力就o係呢度...

其實買人又唔係太差既...
以呢隊波既級數係吸引呢班人嫁喇....

但sunderland同其他下游唔同既係...
每一次passing, 第一腳唔係諗住即斬上去...
而係想試下猜波做上去既...
但奈何除左k.jones同chropa...
其他前鋒真係...梅菲stokes呢d....

不過新特蘭肯猜波真係唔係隊隊新升班都敢打, 特別係簽到米拿同安迪列特, 67臣復出後絕對有條件咁踢
防守差又係問題黎既, 哥頓再勁都唔救得幾多球

Everton and Roma have made their interest in Joaquin known to Valencia, after the player's agent confirmed that a move could be on the cards.

The duo have reportedly made tentative enquiries about the Spain international after it became clear that he has grown disillusioned with life at the Mestalla this season and could be tempted away.

Valencia's financial problems are set to result in various players moving on, with the club looking to balance the books by selling off a number of big names, including David Villa, David Silva and Raul Albiol.

"I cannot deny that there has been offers from Italy and the Premier League because European clubs are well aware of Valencia's situation because it has been well-documented," Joaquin's agent, Eduardo Espejo told Marca.

Falling value

"I agree with what David Villa's agent said in the sense that things at Valencia have meant that (they have) been devalued, but I also cannot say how much the club will ask for him."

While the former Real Betis star's buy-out clause is set at €40m - with the club having paid €25m for him two years ago - it is believed that Valencia would accept a bid of between €15 and €18m for his services.

Joaquin was on the verge of joining Chelsea three seasons ago when Jose Mourinho was keen to take him to London, but the deal never materialised.
