Arsenal could hand young goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny his Premier League debut against Manchester United on Monday.

Lukasz Fabianski is understood to be struggling with a leg injury and may have to sit out the trip to Old Trafford and, while Manuel Almunia is said to have recovered from his elbow injury, reports suggest Wenger would select Szczesny ahead of him.
Fabianski, speaking to ESPNsoccernet last month, hailed Szczesny as a potential star of the future.
"I think he's a great prospect," he said. "A great 'keeper, a great lad. It's nice to have a friend from Poland challenging you.
"We have a great relationship, a great respect for each other, and I think it's good for both of us. He has different opinions sometimes, but I'm always there when he needs help."
After impressing during a loan spell at Brentford last season, Szczesny has made two Carling Cup appearances for the Gunners in the current campaign and has yet to concede a goal.
Should he be named ahead of Almunia, it would add weight to reports the Spaniard will leave Emirates Stadium next month, although Wenger said in his press conference on Friday that there had been no discussions over his departure.
In response to quotes from agent Joseba Diaz suggesting an exit was imminent, Wenger said: "I heard it is his agent who talks about that but at the moment he has no agent, so I cannot see what kind of agent can talk on his behalf.
"We never talked about him leaving, never. That is not my concern before a big game." |
