A bit embarrassing... there are many ways to lose, but this isn't one of them. Obviously, the lack of motivation is important. But once I said this, it's also evident that players like Adriano, Mascherano, Bojan or Milito can't make this kind of performance, if they want to enter in the team.
The first 20-25 minutes were pathetic in every single aspect. Lack of tension, lack of motivation... and Betis playing wonderful football to own Pep's team. In fact, I would say that this is the worst game we played since Guardiola is our coach.
Ratings:
- Pinto - 5. I wouldn't blame him for any goal, but he didn't save anything important either.
- Adriano - 2. Beyond pathetic, in defense, owned; in attack, invisible.
- Piqué - 4. Bad decisions, lack of tension, bad pulling out the line... bad.
- Milito - 2. Always late, always making wrong decisions.
- Maxwell - 5. Just decent, which is the least you can ask.
- Mascherano - 2. Terrible. Lost too many balls and inefficient in defense.
- Keita - 5. He fought as always. Not his best game, but he tried things.
- Xavi - 4. Totally out of the game. Irrelevant, near poor.
- Afellay - 5. From good to bad. He started strong and motivated, trying things, despite he didn't make the right decisions. He needs to adapt, to learn that asociation is over individuality.
- Messi - 6. He appeared to score the goal that gave us some calm (pff) and forced the penalty... that he missed (it's worrying that he just scored 1 penalty out of 3 this year).
- Bojan - 1. I'm getting very tired with him.
Subs:
- Busquets - 6. He gave us some control in midfield.
- Abidal - 6. Fine in defense, not tested.
- Jeffren - 6. He tried his things. IMO, at this point, he must be over Bojan, especially if we are going to play with wingers.
