Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has told the South Wales Evening Post that his club are in negotiations with Liverpool over the potential signing of England Under-21 international midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. "There is an interest there, and we are talking to Liverpool," he said.

QPR defender Christopher Samba is set for a swift return to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

Mega-rich Anzhi, who have the likes of former Champions League winner Samuel Eto'o and ex-Chelsea and Arsenal man Lassana Diarra on their books, sold the former Blackburn defender to Rangers last January for a reported £12.5million.

However, the Russian side are keen to re-sign the giant centre back and QPR look set to recoup most of the money they paid for the 29-year-old.
