Austrian international defender Paul Scharner has joined Wigan Athletic FC from Norwegian side SK Brann for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old will officially join the Premiership side when the transfer window opens on 1 January. He has signed a three-and-a-half year contract. "To play in the Premiership is a dream for me because as a player you want to test yourself against the best," said Scharner.

Nihat Kavehci ha anunciado públicamente su marcha de San Sebastián en enero para fichar, aunque no lo confirmó, por el Spartak de Moscú, tras haber aceptado la oferta de 11,5 millones de euros libres de impuestos por cuatro temporadas que le realizó el club ruso. El delantero turco aseguró que "después de pensarlo muy bien he decidido que lo mejor es que me vaya de la Real, primero por mí y luego por el club", explicó Nihat a la conclusión del primer entrenamiento de su equipo tras el parón navideño.  

El ariete aclaró que ha decidido irse en enero para que la operación de traspaso fuera beneficiosa, tanto para él como para el club en el que ha permanecido durante las últimas cinco temporadas. "Hay muchos que no me han creído, que han pensado que he mentido y que no quería irme hasta junio para marcharme libre. Pero lo cierto es que siempre he dicho que si el club tenía una oferta, yo estaba dispuesto a hablar para que la operación fuera buena para los dos", afirmó.  

Nihat no quiso confirmar la identidad de su club de destino, señalando únicamente que la oferta que ha aceptado "puede ser buena para las dos partes. Aunque no está todo garantizado al cien por cien, puedo decir que hay más probabilidades de que me marche de aquí, que de que me quede", señaló.  

Una buena operación que le abre las puertas a Skoubo

Pese a las cautelas del jugador, todo hace indicar que se trata del Spartak de Moscú, cuya oferta no ha sido la única que ha recibido la Real Sociedad (tambiéne existía una del Dínamo), pero sí la más potente. Las cifras que se barajan hablan de que el jugador cobrará cerca de tres millones de euros netos por cada una de las cuatro temporadas de contrato que le ha ofrecido el club moscovita. Por su parte, la Real ingresará en sus maltrechas arcas entre 2,5 y 3 millones de euros por su venta, seis meses antes de que venza su contrato.

Este dinero permitirá finalmente al club donostiarra el fichaje del delantero centro internacional danés del Brondby Morten Skoubo, de 25 años y 1,91 metros de altura. Skoubo, con ocho goles marcados en la presente temporada, podría cubrir la baja de Kovacevic mientras el serbio se recupera de su operación en el tendón de Aquiles y convertirse en el futuro en su recambio.

Nihat aseguró que se marcha de la Real Sociedad "contento" y "orgulloso" de todo lo que ha dado por el club donostiarra (55 goles en 117 partidos de Liga disputados durante cinco temporadas).

Christian Poulsen has been named Denmark's Player of the Year by his colleagues in the national team and the players in Denmark's domestic leagues.

Close contest
The 25-year-old FC Schalke 04 midfielder collected 33 per cent of the vote in the poll, narrowly edging out FC København defender Michael Gravgaard, who was the choice of 29 per cent of the electorate. The other nominees were Brøndby IF defender Daniel Agger, midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg, who plays his club football in France with AJ Auxerre, and Poulsen's Schalke team-mate, striker Søren Larsen.

Illustrious list
"I am happy that so many players have considered me so good that they believed I deserved this award," said Poulsen. The midfielder follows a number of Danish football's most famous names as Player of the Year, including brothers Michael and Brian Laudrup, Peter Schmeichel, Jon Dahl Tomasson, and Ebbe Sand.

Sweden have lined up a friendly against Finland for their penultimate warm-up before the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals.

Serious opponent
Lars Lagerbäck's men will receive the Finns on 25 May before completing their preparations with another friendly, against as yet unnamed opposition, on 2 June. "We wanted to have an opponent who will take the game seriously," the coach said. The finals begin on 9 June, with Sweden getting their campaign under way the following day against Trinidad and Tobago in Dortmund.

　　繼貝碧托夫當選保加利亞足球先生之後，又一位德甲球星榮膺足球先生的榮譽，他就是來自史浩克04的保亞森，近日他被評選為2005年丹麥足球先生。

　　25歲的保亞森以33%支持率的絕對優勢力壓加夫加特和俱樂部隊友拿臣等人奪魁，他本人也對這一結果感到十分激動。

　　“我要感謝那些支持我的人。”保亞森說到，“畢竟拿臣他們在過去一年的表現也很優秀，我能當選是球迷們給我的最好肯定。”

　　另一方面，保亞森能夠當選丹麥足球先生，無疑為他去更好的球隊闖蕩增添了資本。和俱樂部合同將在明年到期的保亞森日前已經拒絕了史浩克04為他提供的新合同，他很有可能在明年夏天以自由身的方式加盟其他球隊。

　　從滿頭小辮到潔淨的光頭，這就是歲月的力量。當然，不變的是性感，但性感也會老。1994年世界盃的時候大家都夸拿臣英俊，現在人們都說他有男人味。從帥小伙到成熟的中年男人，從飛燕諾到巴塞隆拿。瑞典人累了、倦了，想回家了。12月27日，在家鄉度假的拿臣對瑞典《達格布拉德日報》的記者說：“我想，現在是回家的時候了。”

　　現年34歲的拿臣在1993年的夏天離開瑞典出外打工，先後在飛燕諾、希爾特人與巴塞隆拿度過了11個年頭。在2003─2004賽季度結束後，拿臣就曾打算回到瑞典踢球，但從未在一支真正豪門球隊效力過的遺憾驅使他來到了巴塞隆拿，而現在，對家鄉的思念終於壓倒了一切。

　　“是的，在經歷了多年的漂泊之後，我想回家了。在我這個年紀，可以追求的東西已經不多，家庭才是最重要的。”拿臣說，“唯一的問題在於我與巴塞隆拿的合同到2007年結束，但我相信俱樂部能理解我，他們會尊重我的決定的。”

　　拿臣將自己回家的日期定在了明年夏天。他的經紀人延森稱拿臣作出決定之前與自己商量過，他同樣認為俱樂部並不會阻擾拿臣。而據《世界體育報》的消息，拿臣實際上在本月初就已經將自己的想法告知了主教練里杰卡爾德以及主席拉保亞塔。當時主席先生立即提出續約到2009年，希望留住這位老將的心，但拿臣去意已決，拉保亞塔只能無奈地與拿臣達成了口頭協議：瑞典人履行完這個賽季的合同﹔俱樂部則在明年夏天放人。

　　拿臣的下一個落腳點很可能是赫爾辛堡俱樂部，1992─1993賽季，拿臣曾在這支家鄉的球隊效力。2004年夏天赫爾辛堡在拿臣爭奪戰中輸給了巴塞隆拿，現在，他們可不愿再次錯過機會。“我們會盡一切可能拿下他。”赫爾辛堡主席阿歷山大費爾丁勢在必得到了咬牙切齒的地步，“我會動用一切資源，他必須穿上我們的球衣。”

The Brøndby IF coach Michael Laudrup was delighted with his first major signing of the transfer window, Malmö FF's Cameroonian international left-back Joseph Elanga.

Four-year deal
Capped 17 times, the 26-year-old has penned a four-year contract with the Danish champions, having enjoyed a fruitful spell in Sweden where he featured in 233 Allsevenskan matches for Malmö. Laudrup said of his acquisition: "He is a very fast player and extremely good with the ball. His international experience will also add a lot to our team.

Sennels competition
"Our goal is to have two top players in every position, and with Elanga we have got ourselves a left-footed defender who will make our squad more complete." The new man will challenge Danish international Asbjørn Sennels for the left-back berth.

STOCKHOLM, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Norway defender Jon Inge Hoiland has signed a 2 1/2-year contract with Germany's Kaiserslautern, his Swedish first division club Malmo said on their website on Tuesday.

The contract states the 28-year-old will return to Malmo if Kaiserslautern are relegated from the Bundesliga. No transfer fee was disclosed.

Kaiserslautern are bottom of the Bundesliga standings with 12 points from 17 matches.

IFK director Persson quits after tax scandal

STOCKHOLM, Jan 3 (Reuters) - IFK Gothenburg director Mats Persson has quit after a tax scandal over the purchases of two players, the first division club announced on Tuesday.

Persson was detained for two days in November during an investigation into the signings of Peter Ijeh and Stefan Selakovic.

The Swedish tax office is demanding 11.8 million crowns (£1.5million) from the club.

'Both IFK Gothenburg and Mats Persson want to move on,' club chairman Bengt Halse said in a statement.

Brøndby IF får med tilgangen af Joseph Elanga en særdeles rutineret forsvarsspiller der fra den 1. januar 2006 kun har ét for øje: Succes til Brøndby IF.

- Jeg kommer til en af Skandinaviens bedste klubber og en klub som er med i Europa hvert år. Spillestilen passer mig perfekt, og det er et privillegium at komme til at træne under Michael Laudrup som jeg husker som en stor spiller, var Elangas umiddelbare reaktion efter kontrakten var på pladsen.
