Souness after Argentine midfielder
Newcastle manager Graeme Souness said his main priority for next winter is to bring Argentine defensive midfielder Aldo Duscher, who currently plays for Deportivo La Coruña. Although there have not been any contacts yet, the estimated fee would be of 1 million pounds, or 1.5 million euros.
The 26-year-old Argentine International is having the best season in Spain ever since he got there in the year 2000, having become a regular starter in the defensive midfield, and currently leading in the ball recoveries list, with 46 of them.
He started to play in the year 1995 for the team where he went through the youth stages, Newell’s Old Boys (also where Lionel Messi first started), and was quickly sold to Europe. When he was 20 he joined Sporting Lisboa, and in the year 2000 he was bought by Deportivo.
He had been a regular in Argentina’s youth national teams, when coach José Pekerman was in charge. Now that Pekerman has taken the national first team, Duscher is being called up again and if he is capable of extending his form in Depor to the Argentina national team, he will probably play in the World Cup.
