• Mourinho humble in victory
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to take all the credit for the half-time change that enabled his side to destroy battling Bolton 5-1 with four goals in 10 devastating minutes.
'I did the work on the drawing board at half-time and the players did it out on the pitch,' Mourinho said.
'So I think we all did our work well but matches are won on the pitch. Everybody should take a bit of credit.
'I went down into the dressing room early at half-time because I wanted to prepare the diagrams for the player on the boards. I knew what I wanted to do. It was only one change but in tactical terms it was a big one.
'I don't like to make changes in the first half because I think everybody deserves to play for 45 minutes. The question in my mind was which defender to take off because it was not a problem for us to play three against three at the back.
'Asier was not playing badly but I thought the other three had enough enough pace between them.'
Mourinho's change was further sparked by a first half in which he thought Didier Drogba was left to forage on his own far too much.
'I felt Didier was a bit lonely in the middle because Arjen Robben and Damien Duff play more in the middle.
'But there was a lot of spaces with Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips on the wings. I thought Eidur was the man to provide a different situation.'
Chelsea now have a goal difference of plus 20 and have scored nine goals in their last two games - hardly the kind of return you expect from a side labelled as 'boring' by their critics this season.
'We are not boring,' declared Mourinho. 'You can have a boring match but we are not a boring team.'
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce bemoaned referee Rob Styles' decision not to send off Michael Essien for a shocking tackle on Tal Ben Haim.
Allardyce was convinced it had a direct influence on the outcome of the contest, especially as Bolton's Ricardo Gardner was later sent off for deliberate handball.
'To win or get a result at Stamford Bridge you always need a slice of luck or a decision to go your way,' said Allardyce.
'Sadly, we didn't get that. We didn't get it when we hit the bar in the first half but the most disappointing thing for me was Essien's tackle and the fact he was allowed to stay on the pitch.
'That had a major influence on the result. We ended up going down to 10 men in the second half. But when you see someone sent off for handball and a tackle like that not get punished as severely as it should have been, then it is a major influence.
'I knew how bad the tackle was and my concern was for Ben Haim. I was relieved he wasn't seriously injured and was going to stay on the pitch. I expected the referee to have red-carded Essien but it didn't happen and that's had an influence on the game.
'In the end Chelsea got back in the game and then steam-rollered us. Chelsea played quality football going forward and scored some quality goals. They will take some catching.'
