Doctors hopeful Aranburu will be able to play again
MADRID, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Doctors are optimistic Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Aranburu will be able to play again after reconstructing his right knee.
"We are very pleased with the results and we believe we have managed to rebuild the knee," said club doctor Eduardo Escobar.
"I admit that I had feared for Mikel's career, but after the operation we are much more optimistic than we were on Sunday and we think he can recover despite the seriousness of the injury.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury at the weekend when Racing Santander defender Oriol Lozano crashed the sole of his boot into his knee, bending it backwards, tearing the cruciate and lateral ligaments as well as fracturing the kneecap.
Sociedad have called for action against match referee Alfonso Pino Zamorano who failed to penalise the wild challenge.
Oriol apologised to Aranburu for the tackle and has insisted he had no intention of deliberately injuring his opponent.
"I'm really upset and felt terrible after I saw the incident on TV," he said. "At no time did I want to hurt him but I can see that I did a lot of damage. I want to apologise to everyone for what happened." |
