PENNANT SIGNS FOUR YEAR ANFIELD DEAL

Liverpool have today completed the signing of Jermaine Pennant from Birmingham on a four year contract.

The 23 year old right sided midfielder officially put pen to paper on his Anfield deal this afternoon after completing a medical.

He will fly out to Switzerland to join up with his new team-mates at their week long training camp.

Pennant's arrival marks the end of manager Rafael Benitez's long search to bring in a right winger and he could make his Reds' debut against Kaiserslautern this weekend.

Pennant started his career with Notts County before moving to Arsenal for £2 million in 1999. He was unable to hold down a regular place in Arsene Wenger's first team and had loan spells with Watford, Leeds United and Birmingham before completing a permanent move to St Andrews last summer.

He becomes Rafael Benitez's fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Craig Bellamy, Mark Gonzalez, Fabio Aurelio and Gabriel Paletta.

Pennant will wear the number 16 shirt at Anfield.

Milan star Simic in new Everton link

AC Milan defender Dario Simic claims long-term admirers Everton are one of two clubs to have made a renewed bid to take him to Goodison Park.Simic is Croatia's all-time record caps holder and caught the eye during this summer's World Cup finals but was one of the players to see red in the stormy encounter with Australia in Stuttgart.

Simic, who is contracted to Milan until 2009, has been the subject of two failed bids by Everton boss David Moyes in the past but could now be ready to try his luck in another country.

"There are two interested clubs. One of them is Everton," he said.

"But everything is on stand-by, although I spoke to [Milan general sports director] Ariedo Brada about this interest."

The Rossoneri have been granted an entry route into the Champions League following an appeal against their suspension, and the lighter punishment could lead to the likes of Simic ultimately agreeing to remain in Milan.

The San Siro outfit now have an eight-point deduction for next season's Serie A instead of the 15-point penalty originally planned.

Simic, who is comfortable at either right-back, or across the midfield, has previously played for Inter Milan and Dinamo Zagreb.

　　蘇甘寶是前阿仙奴的核心後衛，在今年2月份的一場英超聯賽中，他因狀態欠佳被提前換下場，從此就悶悶不樂，被懷疑精神出現了問題，休息了兩個月後才重新投入比賽，但他對俱樂部的怨氣沒有消除。憑借著在冠軍聯賽決賽介竟進球，他也入選了英格蘭隊參加世界盃，但是在和瑞典的比賽中出場後，表現平平，對失球負有一定責任，世界盃結束後返回英格蘭，蘇甘寶立刻和阿仙奴和平分手，在還差一年到期的情況下提前解除了合同，蘇甘寶多次表示希望去外國效力，土耳其的費內巴赫已經發出邀請，他們提供的7萬英鎊周薪對於這位32歲的老將很有吸引力，盡管英超的樸次茅斯俱樂部也希望他加盟，但是蘇甘寶有言在先希望去國外，因此老列納的打算恐怕要落空了。

　　對於蘇甘寶來說，已經下定決心要去外國踢球，蜚聲世界的意甲顯然要比偏居一隅的土超更有吸引力，以費倫天拿的實力，有望在即將開始的賽季打出好成績，蘇甘寶曾說要把自己提高一個層次，群雄逐鹿的意甲正好可以給他這樣一個舞台。

Wolves may be at door for Carsley
Everton midfielder Lee Carsley could be on his way to Wolves after Mick McCarthy expressed an interest in the former Republic of Ireland man.

Carsley has been left behind for personal reasons as the Goodison Park club embark on a two match trip to the USA.

Now his former international boss, who opted not to retain Paul Ince at Wolves, could be about to sign Carsley as a direct replacement.

McCarthy told his club's official website: "I admire Carsley, I haven't spoken to David Moyes (Everton boss) about him, but we would like somebody of that ilk."

The 32-year-old has only one year left on his contract and could find himself well down the Everton pecking order in the coming season with Tim Cahill, Simon Davies, Mikel Arteta, Leon Osman and Phil Neville all likely to be ahead of him.

McCarthy gave Carsley his international debut in 1998. The former Coventry ace missed much of last season with a knee injury, but is fit again and hoping to reclaim a spot in the Irish side.

Fulham complete Queudrue signing

Fulham have completed the signing of defender Franck Queudrue from Middlesbrough on a four-year deal.
The 27-year-old joined Middlesbrough from Lens in May 2002 after impressing during an initial eight-month loan.

Queudrue told Fulham's website that he wanted a new challenge, adding: "I met boss Chris Coleman and was impressed with his ambition for the future.

"He spoke with great passion about what he wanted to achieve long term and I am happy to be part of those plans."

Queudrue made 199 appearances in total for Boro, including last season's loss to Sevilla in the Uefa Cup final.

Fulham boss Coleman said he had admired Queudrue for some time.

"He is a gifted player with great skill, and I know that he will make a difference to our back line," he said.

"I am planning for the future here at Fulham and I know that the additions we have made this summer and back in January have increased our chances of long term success and I am very excited about the future.'
