dean bowditch好似曾幾何時都幾好,但係越黎越差,

Town have agreed terms with Birmingham's Alex Bruce and the player is having a medical at Portman Road with a view to signing a three year contract.

The 21-year-old, who can play in defence or as a holding midfield player, has spent the day at the Club and has already met up with his prospective team-mates.

Bruce, the son of Birmingham boss Steve Bruce, began his career as a trainee with Blackburn before moving to St Andrew's in January 2005.

He made a total of 12 appearances for the first team during his time in the midlands as well having loan spells at Oldham and Sheffield Wednesday, who he helped to promotion via the Second Division Play-Offs in 2005.
Bruce will become Jim Magilton's first signing if the deal is completed and will arrive on a free transfer.

Confirming the news to the Club website, Town boss Jim said: "Alex has been with us all day and we're hoping to tie everything up tonight."

MARIO JOINS RENNES
Mario Melchiot has become the latest Blues player who left St. Andrew's in the summer to find himself a new club.

The 29-year-old full back, who left Blues in June, has joined French club Rennes on a free transfer and has signed a one-year deal.

Rennes, who are based in north western France, start their league campaign this coming Saturday with a home game against Lille.

Melchiot has signed a one-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit.

CLAPHAM MAKES WOLVES MOVE
Former Blues defender Jamie Clapham has today joined fellow Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Wolves.

Clapham was released by Blues at the end of last season following the club's relegation from the Premiership and had been training with Mick McCarthy's side over the summer.

In just over three-and-a-half years at Blues Clapham made 97 appearances and scored a solitary goal.

DOUBLE DEAL DONE
We can officially confirm that as of 5:30pm on Wednesday August 2nd Cardiff City have secured the permanent signing of both Kevin Campbell and Willo Flood.

Attacking midfielder Willo joins the Bluebirds from Manchester City in the Premiership, while experienced striker Kevin Campbell was released by West Brom in May following their move to the Championship.

Both will be presented to the press at 2:30pm on Thursday along with fellow new signings Kerrea Gilbert and Luigi Glombard.

City have sealed the capture of Southampton defender Danny Higginbotham.
The former Manchester United trainee, 27, (pictured below) has agreed a three-year deal and joins for an as yet undisclosed fee after rejecting the offer a new contract at St. Mary's in favour of a move to City.

He could make his Potters debut as soon as this Saturday's opening game of the new season at Southend, and says: "I'm delighted to come to Stoke and I was really impressed by how keen the club were to sign me.

"There seems to be great optimism around the club about the future and I look forward to being part of it."

A left-footed defender who can play full-back or centre-back, he made his professional debut at Old Trafford before joining Derby in 2000 for a fee of £2m.

He left Pride Park for Southampton three years later for £1.5m and made nearly 100 appearances for the club.

He skippered the Saints last season and finished runner-up in the club Player of the Year poll.

His arrival at City ends a patient quest by manager Tony Pulis, who reveals: "We have been working six weeks to get this deal done and we are delighted it has now been completed.

"Danny is a player with a lot of qualities. I spoke to many people about him and he comes to us with very good references.

"We are a bit short at the moment at left-back, which he can play, and he can also play inside as a centre-half.

"He's done a pre-season, he's fit, and he will go straight into our squad for the game against Southend."
