KILLA GOING NOWHERE

Chairman Ken Bates has dismissed the latest bout of speculation linking Matthew Kilgallon with a move away from Elland Road.

Speaking exclusively to Yorkshire Radio, the Elland Road chairman has quashed suggestions that the young defender is set to join Reading.

"I saw that Reading wanted Kilgallon and were going to bid a £1m for him," said the Leeds chairman.

"I saw another story carrying a report that we had Glenn Hoddle lined up as well. That was a load of nonsense and so is this.

"We actually turned down an offer for more than £1m from Reading so he is going nowhere.

"If he continues to develop as he is, I can see him as a natural successor to John Terry."

Roy Keane visited Sunderland today where he met with players and officials from the club.

Keane and the club have agreed terms on him being appointed as manager, and it is envisaged that he will sign a formal contract immediately after Sunderland's game against West Brom tomorrow.
