Moyes Hopeful Of Two More Signings
Thu 30 Jun, 3:09 PM
Everton manager David Moyes is confident of making at least two more signings and hopes they will be in place before next week's pre-season trip to Austria.
Moyes, who has already signed Denmark international defender Per Kroldrup for 5million from Udinese and paid Spurs 3.5million for Wales international midfielder Simon Davies in the closed season, has been linked with a host of other names.
Among those are Roma defender Matteo Ferrari. However, while Moyes admits the player has been watched, he is not currently on their list of targets.
The Scot has dismissed rumours linking him with Grazer AK midfielder Rene Aufhauser and Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah, who has been interesting Middlesbrough, while there is currently a tentative link with Real Madrid star Guti.
But with Champions League football on the horizon for Everton, and with money available to spend, Moyes is set to further strengthen the squad.
"I am confident that we will have more new faces - hopefully they will be here before we go to Austria next week," confirmed Moyes in the Liverpool Echo.
"I don't want to put a time-scale on anything in case we can't meet a deadline, but I hope to have at least a couple more new players in place by next week."
