Today, June 22nd 2007, Valencia CF had another special day at the VIPbox of Mestalla. As it was with the announcement of the contractextensions of Rubén Baraja and David Silva, the presentation of todaywas also a special act in which the first new player for the 2007/2008season, Javier Arizmendi, was presented. He will play for our team forat least the next six seasons. At the VIP box were also the president,Mr Juan Bautista Soler, together with the directors Mr Vicente Silla,Mr Agustín Morera and Mr Jesús Barrachina and the general directors MrJesús Wollstein and Ms María José Claramunt.

Javier, welcome home. You’ll be atleast six seasons with us. You’ll defend a shirt that you will keep inyour heart year after year. You’ll find that the supporters, the fans,the media, will appreciate your work and your football. Congratulationsfor being among us and thank you for accepting our offer.’

His decision
‘Itwas very easy to take this decision. As a football player, it is adream come true. We can achieve everything. There is a high requirementlevel, but I do not fear it. I take it as a great challenge. I’ll tryto take this opportunity’ said Arizmendi.
The rivalry
‘Asevery top team, Valencia CF has very good players and the requirementwill be very high, as well as the rivalry. I will work every day and Ihope this rivalry turns into something good for the team and for theclub. I will work with humility, I’ll respect my teammates and I willtry to get my place and make progress’ stated Arizmendi.

‘Ofcourse, during these years, we don’t have to give up in any competitionwe are in. We are one of the best contenders to win the Liga.’
