DALLAS, Texas (AFP) - Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki(notes) said Thursday he doesn't expects problems with his personal life to be a distraction to the Mavericks playoff hopes.
"I am a warrior. I will be ready to play," said the 30-year-old German forward at Thursday's National Basketball Association practice.
The Dallas News reported that a woman arrested at Nowitzki's home Wednesday was his 37-year-old girlfriend Cristal Taylor who is being held on a theft charge and a probation violation from two separate states.
"It is pretty obvious that I am going through a tough time in my personal life right now," Nowitzki said.
"I want to keep my private life private. I really am not at the stage where I can talk about it yet and feel comfortable talking about it. I'm more than happy to answer basketball questions."
The Denver Nuggets lead the Mavericks 2-0 in the quarter-final playoff series. Game three is Saturday.
