Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger Lines Up Bordeaux Star Yoann Gourcuff As Potenial Replacement For Cesc Fabregas - Report

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to make a £21.8 million deal for Bordeaux star Yoann Gourcuff to replace captain Cesc Fabregas should he move to Barcelona this summer.

The Gunners have already discussed their interest in the France international with his father Christian and Wenger wants to make the midfielder Arsenal’s record signing this summer.

"While every effort is being made to keep Cesc at the club the boss is working towards an alternative,” an Arsenal source told The Sun.

"He believes Gourcuff's finesse and grace will fit perfectly to Arsenal's way of playing and will make it an almost seamless transition if Cesc does go."

Fabregas is keen to make a move to childhood club Barcelona and while Arsenal has been hesitant to sell the Spain international, it is believed that the Gunners would be willing to let their captain leave for £45 million despite slapping a £80 million price tag on the 23-year-old.

Gourcuff, who will be relied upon as France’s playmaker at this summer’s World Cup, has a £21.8 million release clause in his contract at Bordeaux.

Wenger will have a hard time lowering Bordeaux’s asking price for Gourcuff as the French club’s president Jean Louis Triand is still angry with the Gunners for nabbing striker Marouane Chamakh on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Gourcuff came to Bordeaux from AC Milan for £14 million last summer and with the Ligue 1 giants strapped for cash they could let the midfielder leave in the transfer window.

He is already negotiating to take Inter Milan right-back Maicon to the club but wants to add a left-back and a midfielder. Cole is understood to be ready to consider a move after his pop star wife Cheryl filed for divorce last week, although Real may baulk at improving his wages of £120,000 a week and are tracking Lazio's Aleksander Kolovov as a contingency.

Lampard would find it difficult to resist the lure of rejoining former mentor Mourinho.

However, neither Ancelotti nor Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would want to lose such an iconic player, who signed his current four-year deal when Mourinho attempted to recruit him for Inter Milan.

Lampard is 32 next month and Mourinho's interest represents his final chance to make the move abroad which he has always said he would like to experience before his career ends.

　　此前在接受《阿斯報》的採訪時，穆里尼奧就毫不掩飾對簽下蘭帕德和阿什利-科爾的渴望。之後《都靈體育報》進一步的消息證實，皇馬將把卡卡作為交換的籌碼以敲開斯坦福橋的大門。而根據《每日郵報》的最新消息，穆里尼奧的經紀人，歐洲轉會大鱷門德斯將親自負責這樁驚天大交換，並將於近日內造訪倫敦勸說切爾西高層放人。

      「阿祖安奴非常特別，他是那種能夠帶來不同的球員。」施薩向Tuttomercatoweb表示。

      「前鋒線上增添了阿祖安奴之後，羅馬來季肯定會更加強大。」

Everton confirm Beckford signing

Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has signed a four-year deal with Everton, three days after being released from his contract at Elland Road.

Beckford netted 31 goals in League One last season to help Leeds to promotion, and will now be tested in the Premier League for the first time.

Everton boss David Moyes has demonstrated his faith in the striker's ability to score top-flight goals by offering him a four-year contract, and Beckford will compete with Louis Saha, Yakubu, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan for a place in the Toffees' frontline.

"I am excited by it. It's going to be a test, I know that, but I am looking forward to it," Beckford said. "I want to test myself at the highest level and luckily for me, David Moyes showed an interest in me, showed some faith in me and hopefully I can repay that.

"I've been impressed a lot by him. He seems like the type of guy who will sit down and tell you where you're going wrong, what you're doing right and what you might need to work on.

"It is a club I can learn from and it can help me develop into a better player. Fingers crossed, I can be really involved in taking this club where it wants to be.''

Beckford passed a medical at the club on Monday, with the deal completing a remarkable ascent up the football ladder for the striker over the past four years.

In 2006 he was playing for non-league side Wealdstone in the seventh tier of English football, but after netting 35 goals in 40 games in the 2005-06 season he earned a move to Leeds, though he initially struggled to break into the team.

Loan moves to Carlisle and Scunthorpe followed but Beckford eventually won a place in Leeds' starting line-up and over the past two seasons has proved his goalscoring credentials.

He netted the winner against Manchester United in January, as Leeds pulled off an FA Cup shock with a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford, and he was named the League One Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons.
