列斯本身都有 Healy, Robbie Blake, Cresswel 等前鋒, 仲有d新仔如 Ian Moore 等上位, 所以都有放走 Hulse 嘅空間.

Ian moore恐怕都唔後生罷
無錯,係數到幾個前鋒出黎或可「尼」補Hulse既離開,
但送走左呢位已經可以o係列斯當上首席射手,可以上位既又係咪可以填補到呢個空間呢
可幸既可能就係列斯既入球分佈很平均
但願Cresswell keep住上季尾既威力罷

Barmby Scores On His Return
Nick Barmby made a goal-scoring return to action on Monday evening as he helped Hull City to a 4-1 victory against Bridlington Town at Queensgate.

The Tigers went ahead inside a minute as Stuart Green rounded Town goalkeeper Gavin Kelly before side-footing home. Will Atkinson doubled the lead before the break as he sent a thunderbolt into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

Two minutes after half time, Nicky Featherstone converted a penalty before Barmby got in on the act seven minutes later as he chipped the ball over Kelly from inside the area.

Bridlington grabbed a consolation goal on 58 minutes before Barmby was substituted a minute later.

City also gave run-outs to first team professionals Mark Lynch, Russell Fry, Tom Matthews, Michael Byron and Curtis Aspden as the pre-season preparations continued.

CLUB STATEMENT REGARDING JERMAINE PENNANT
Contrary to reports in today's media, Birmingham City Football Club has not agreed a fee with Liverpool FC for Jermaine Pennant.

The two clubs have talked on a couple of occasions but Birmingham City and Liverpool Football Club are a long way off in their respective valuations of the player.

Until Birmingham's valuation is met, the Club will not even consider a move for Pennant.

As Birmingham City have continually stated, they are not looking to sell any of their best players.

Scowcroft signs for Palace
Coventry City forward James Scowcroft has joined Crystal Palace in a deal valued at £500,000.

The former Leicester City and Ipswich Town man passed a medical yesterday and agreed terms with the London club this morning before putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Scowcroft joined the Sky Blues on a free transfer in July last year and was an integral part of City's first-team last season, making 45 appearances and scoring three goals.

Though he has performed for most of his career as a striker, he played for the majority of the 05-06 season on the right-hand side of midfield.

The forward will link up with former manager Peter Taylor at Palace, who bought him for £3-million in 2001 when he was manager of Leicester City.

Everyone at Coventry City would like to wish James the very best of luck for the future.

Kevin Blackwell was quick to hail the goalscoring return of Steve Stone after the weekend clash at Hartlepool.

The former England midfielder, who returned from a nine-month injury lay-off during the final weeks of last season, scored the only goal of United's 2-1 friendly defeat against the League Two side on Saturday.

The industrious winger played the full 90 minutes at the Victoria Ground, and the United boss was delighted.

"He's a great lad and the players here love him," said the manager.

"He virtually missed the whole of last season, and he plays every game like it's his first as a professional."

The United boss admitted he was disappointed to see his side lose their first pre-season game, but insists there is more to warm-up matches than results.

"We don't like losing any game, but it's what we get out of it that counts," he added.

"We knew it was going to be a test and the heat was oppressive at times."

Dunga - who joined QPR in September 2004 - was named as Brazil's new boss on Monday evening, succeeding Carlos Alberto Parreira, who quit in the wake of Brazil's defeat to France in the World Cup quarter-finals.

Speaking from the Club's first team training camp in Italy, R's Chairman Gianni Paladini said: "Dunga has resigned with immediate effect.''

Paladini continued: "I'd like to wish him all the best and thank him for everything he has done for Queens Park Rangers Football Club.''

Dunga will continue to be a QPR shareholder for the time being.

Finkler Signs On Loan
Wolves have signed Guilherme Finkler on a season-long loan from Brazilian top flight team Juventude. The club also has an exclusive option to buy the midfielder for £100,000 before the loan ends on 30 June 2007.

  The 20-year-old has been on trial since the squad travelled to Spain for pre-season training on earlier this month.

  The deal has been in negotiation for the past week and was rubber stamped yesterday after the arrival of new boss Mick McCarthy.

  Gui (pronounced Gee) speaks no English as yet but told WOW through an interpreter that he was delighted to sign.

  "I am very please to be a Wolves player now because I have been waiting for a decision," he said.

  "This is my first opportunity to come and play football in Europe and I think it is very special to come to play in England. I hope to do a good job for the fans.

  "This is my first time away from Brazil and it is a bit complicated because I do not speak English. But I am going to learn quickly.

  "It is my objective to learn not just about English football but the English way of life."

  Gui describes his style as an attacking, technical midfielder who likes to spend time after training practising set-pieces. Fans at the Hednesford game caught a glimpse of his dead ball talent when he curled a free-kick around the wall from 25-yards to open the scoring.

  Although only hours into his new job as boss at Wolves, Mick was happy to sanction the deal to make Gui the first Brazilian to play for Wolves.

  "It's been in negotiation for a while and based on what the staff have said about him I am happy that we signed him up," he said.

  "Obviously I've only seen him in one training session but he looked OK yesterday."

  Gui holds an Italian passport so will not require a work permit.

Niall Quinn has been appointed the new manager of Sunderland.

The former striker, who is also in line to take over as chairman, admits his reign may yet be short-lived.

He takes over with the Championship season kicking off in just over two weeks, but revealed he could step aside if a top-class boss becomes available.

Quinn admitted: "If it takes three months to get to a point where we can bring in a new manager then great, I will gladly walk away."

After announcing his consortium had bought a controlling stake in the club earlier this month, Quinn made his first task to find a new manager for the club.

But he has been frustrated in his attempts to fill the role, with moves for former Celtic boss Martin O'Neill and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce both coming to nothing.

And on Monday, following their 2-0 win over Shelbourne, former Republic of Ireland international Quinn outlined his proposal to take over at a board meeting.

But he made it clear his intention is to fill in until he can attract the right calibre of manager.

He said: "When I was in full flow with the club three months ago, becoming manager is not something I thought I would be doing.

"But it has transpired that way, even though the group who are backing me could not have been more ambitious in trying to attract a world-class manager.

"What happened is that we decided we would try to attempt the first hurdle because what we have to do is try to stop the slide, to turn the corner.

"We have to gather momentum, and then to lift it so that we get to a point where I can pick the phone up, go to a world-class manager and hopefully with the position we are then in, say to him 'come now'."

On 3 July, Quinn announced his Drumaville consortium had been successful with a £10m offer for the north-east club.

He was given 21 days to try and gain the rest of the shares in the club as he attempts to gain full control.

Sunderland were relegated to the Championship with a record low Premiership points total last season and are about £40m in debt.

Bruce slaps £5m asking price on Pennant

Steve Bruce has warned Liverpool they will have to match Birmingham's valuation of Jermaine Pennant - believed to be around £5million - if they want to sign the winger.

Blues have already rejected an offer of around £3.5million from Rafael Benitez for the former Arsenal player who moved to St Andrews from Arsenal for £3million 12 months ago.

Bruce is mindful of the fact Birmingham will have to pay Arsenal 25% of any fee for Pennant as part of a sell-on clause included in the deal.

He said: 'We had an offer from Liverpool which we rejected and, until they meet our valuation of Jermaine Pennant, they will get the same answer.

'There's only been one bid, of around £3.5million. We paid £3million for Jermaine plus we owe Arsenal 25% of any sell-on fee.

'We don't want to sell him for £3.5million, that's for sure. Now it's a question of how far Liverpool are prepared to go in meeting our valuation. If they don't then they will move on, I suppose.'

Benitez could now make an improved offer, especially as one of his potential targets in Damien Duff has joined Newcastle from Chelsea in a £5million deal.

Meanwhile, Bruce looks like he will have to admit defeat in his bid to sign Coventry striker Gary McSheffrey after the player insisted he was committed to the Sky Blues.

Birmingham have had two bids rejected for the player who was Coventry's leading scorer in 2005-06.

Bruce is keen to bring in new fire-power, particularly after the sale of Emile Heskey to Wigan for £5.5million to supplement DJ Campbell, Mikael Forssell and Cameron Jerome.

Arca in Boro talks

Sunderland have confirmed that Julio Arca is in talks with Middlesbrough.

Boro have tabled a bid for the Argentinian midfielder and the Black Cats have "reluctantly" let him speak to the Teesside club.

Arca has been at the Stadium of Light for five seasons and has one year left on his current deal.

Niall Quinn, Sunderland's manager, confirmed today: "There is a clause in Julio's contract that allows him to speak to any Premiership club if they come in for him [following relegation]. Reluctantly, we've had to allow him to exercise a right and talk to Middlesbrough.

"He's had one meeting with them and I think he's having a second today.

"He's a smashing player and we don't want him to go. I've promised him that whatever they offer him, we will match; and that we want him to stay."

Quinn believes Arca's international ambitions could sway his decision.

The Black Cats boss said: "He has stayed loyal to us once before, but after that he never got a look-in [at international level].

"He went from being in the Argentina Olympic squad to not being heard of as far as Argentina are concerned. He wants to be in the Premiership and Boro is a team that attracts a lot of attention in South America, because of the players they've had in the past.

"He's got ambition. I'm hoping that he decides to stay but I just get the feeling he's made a decision.

"We wouldn't knock the kid if he goes that way. He's been a fantastic, loyal servant to Sunderland.

"It's not a commercial decision, it's not financial; and if he decides to go he goes with our blessing, he has been a smashing kid."

Neither side could find the finishing touch to make the difference in a pre-season friendly which produced plenty of good football and was a searching workout for the Potters.

Steve Simonsen won the sponsors' Man-of-the-Match award for a string of excellent first-half saves, but the central defensive partnership of skipper Michael Duberry and Clint Hill was equally as impressive as they held the dangerous PSV front pairing of Jefferson Farfan and Arouna Kone at bay.

Eindhoven made a slick start and Simonsen was City's key figure early on, denying the Dutch champions three times in the opening 20 minutes - the best a one-handed save low to his right from Kone.

The Ivory Coast international - fresh from his World Cup exploits in Germany, pulled the trigger smartly from 18 yards after being set up by Farfan to end one of a number of neat interchanges from the Dutch duo.

The visitors continued to create the best openings in the first-half with some slick approach work and DaMarcus Beasley rounded off another promising attack in poor fashion by scuffing his shot across the face of goal.

City found it harder to open up a well-organised defence put Peter Sweeney set alarm bells ringing with a run and cross which was a fraction too high for Vincent Pericard to latch on to.
