Dalmat ends Inter stay
Inter midfielder Stephane Dalmat has ended his nightmare spell at the club and signed for Spanish side Racing Santander. The 26-year-old has penned a five-year contract with the La Liga outfit and is set to join up with his new teammates next week. The former Les Bleus star will be hoping to force his way back into the international reckoning after a nightmare few years. He looked to have found his way with Tottenham in the 2003-04 season after a solid loan spell, but the club’s hierarchy decided against making his move permanent.

Malaga have signed Spanish striker Salva Ballesta after he was released by Valencia.

Salva, a £7.5 million signing from Atletico Madrid, had a year left on his Valencia contract but new boss Quique Sanchez Flores agreed to release him early as he was not in his plans for the coming season.

Salva finished as top scorer in La Liga whilst with Racing Santander in 2000, before moving to the Spanish capital with Atletico.

A move to Valencia followed the next season but he failed to reach the heights of old and was loaned out to Bolton, Malaga and back at Atletico last season.

The 30-year-old has now signed a four-year deal with Malaga, where he scored 19 league goals during his spell on loan.

Salva will now be challenging for a starting role in Antonio Tapia's side for the new season in La Liga.

Tapia has also bolstered his attack recently when signing Pablo Counago from Ipswich Town, as his summer rebuilding continues.

John Aloisi has ended his summer summer transfer saga by signing a two-year deal with Alavés.
The former Portsmouth and Coventry striker looked set for a move to Panathinaikos at the end of the season after seeing his contract at El Sadar run out.

But the Greek giants decided not to progress with the deal after claiming that they were unhappy with the results of the medical that highlighted a problem with Aloisi's knee.

Reports then suggested that the Australian international would re-sign for Osasuna, but Alavés stepped in with an offer for Aloisi to spearhead their attack.

The Mendizorroza club have bought a host of new faces for their first season back in La Primera, including Mauricio Pellegrino, Poli and Jandro.

Celta Vigo have reached an agreement to sign Javi Guerrero from Racing Santander as the Galicians’ rebuilding continues.
The 23-year-old forward was available on a free transfer and opted to sign a three-year deal with Celta, who won automatic promotion back to the Spanish top flight after just one season in the second division.

Celta have already brought in Esteban from Sevilla and Jogre Larena from Atlético Madrid this summer and are linked to a plethora of players as they bid to bring their squad upto La Primera standards.

For Racing it is also a period of transition as they have sold or seen several stars leave for free including Yossi Benayoun and Mario Regueiro.

Guerrero is set to undergo a medical at the Balaidos on Monday and will then put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract at the club.

Saviola Ready For Seville

Reports from Spain suggest that Javier Saviola may be ready to join Seville.
Spanish media are reporting that Saviola and Seville have already reached an initial agreement on a contract. Barcelona, currently Saviola’s club, have stated that the diminutive attacker is for sale, but this move though could yet be undone as apparently the transfer is dependent on Seville selling Julio Baptista to Arsenal.

Saviola has no shortage of suitors though his wages have been the stumbling block for some clubs. Atletico Madrid were also said to be keen on the striker, but Mateja Kezman’s move may have put an end to that speculation.

Barcelona had put Saviola on loan to Monaco last season and with the return of Henrik Larsson fro serious injury in addition to the plethora of quality strikers at Frank Rijkaard’s disposal, it is thought by the Catalans that Argentine international Saviola is expendable.
