Real Madrid are ready to offer Deportivo La Coruna 7 million pounds plus striker Javier Portillo for Albert Luque.

Real GM Arrigo Sacchi confirmed yesterday that Luque "is a high priority signing" when speaking with Radio Marca.

It's emerged that Real intend to make the cash plus Portillo bid for Spanish international Luque, who is rated at 10 million by Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro.

The Real offer interests Depor coach Joaquin Caparros, who is desperate to find a new striker after ruling out a return for Walter Pandiani.

"At the moment nothing is official," said Caparros. "It's only official when a fax arrives, or you get a call from a president or sports director."

"At the moment there is nothing."
