Luxemburgo Reveals Tactical Plan

Zinedine Zidane is set to play further forward in the upcoming campaign.
Lux feels Zizou best position is in the final third of the field, behind the strikers, as opposed to a deeper role or a position on the left side of midfield – where was often deployed last season.

"I like Zidane playing just behind the forwards," Luxemburgo explained. "When he is further back the team loses something. If he has control near the front then the rhythm of the side is better and that is a good thing for everyone.”

Los Merengues warmed up for what, for them, will be a massive season aheah with a 3-1 win over Chivas in Chicago. A three man midfield anchored the side, allowing Zidane to push on to support and supply the striker force.

"That is why we played Beckham, Pablo Garcia and Gravesen because that allowed Zidane to have a free role where I like to see him play."

This system clearly explains the exit of wingers Luis Figo and Santiago Solari, and certainly suggests that should Robinho eventually arrive at the Bernabeu he will be deployed predominantly as a striker.

坦白講,哩套戰術同我玩CM 01-02後期果陣嘅4-2-1-3好似,分別只係防中同前鋒人數此起彼落..

Villarreal will have to continue battling for the signature of a new central midfielder after failing to land Schalke’s Dane.
Last season’s surprise package in La Liga are clearly keen on a midfield enforcer, having already shown an interest in Juventus’ surplus ball winner Alessio Tacchinardi.

The bid for Christain Poulsen was reportedly way off his club’s evaluation, and thus dismissed without much negotiation. "We referred a clear position regarding a transfer fee and left no large flexibility in negotiations,” said an official from the Bundesliga outfit.

"Villarreal were very far from it" he revealed.

The player was a regular at Euro 2004 and was the ill-fated  'receiver' in the spitting incident that saw Italy's Francesco Totti ignominiously sent off - missing the remainder of the tournament as a result.  

The dealings could still pick up again as Poulsen has just one year remaining on his current contract at Schalke. It seems the club may have some problems convincing the blonde bombshell to extend his stay, as the international is apparently annoyed at his employer’s decision to rebuff Villarreal’s approach.

Primera new boys Celta Vigo have completed the permanent signing of Valencia's Hector Cannobio.

The Uruguayan midfielder spent last season on loan at Celta and played a key role in helping the Galician club secure promotion back to La Primera.

Cannobio joined Valencia from Penarol in his homeland in the summer of 2003 but failed to force his way into the first-team picture at the Mestalla.

He will now get the chance to prove himself in the Spanish top-flight with Celta following a deal that also sees Valencia's young defender Jose Enrique move to the Balaidos on loan.

The Spain Under-20 international only joined Valencia from local rivals Levante earlier in the summer, but has been farmed out on loan to accrue experience.
